Pipe Repair & Replacement

Lasting repairs for cracked, corroded and failed pipework, and section replacement when an old line is no longer worth patching.

Overview

Repairs built to last, not just to stop the drip

A pipe rarely fails without a reason. Corrosion, poor original jointing, high water pressure, movement and age all play a part. Patching the visible damage without understanding the cause usually means another leak a short distance away a few months later.

Before we repair, we look at the condition of the surrounding pipe, the material, the fittings and the system pressure. Then we recommend the most sensible option: a targeted repair where the line is sound, or a replacement section where it is not. Either way, the finished work is pressure tested before the water goes back on.

Pipe materials

We work with the pipework already in your home

Repairs must suit the existing system. Mixing incompatible materials or fittings is a common cause of repeat leaks, so we match every repair to what is already installed.

Copper

Durable and common on hot and cold lines. We repair with compression or soldered fittings and check nearby pipe for pinhole corrosion.

PPR

Heat-fused polypropylene used in many modern installations. Repairs are fusion welded for a seamless, strong joint that matches the original.

uPVC and CPVC

Lightweight plastic pipe for supply and waste lines. We replace cracked sections and failed solvent-welded joints with matching fittings.

Galvanised steel

Found in older properties and prone to internal corrosion. We repair where it is sensible and advise honestly when replacement will save money.

The process

How a pipe repair visit works

Every repair follows the same careful sequence, so nothing is rushed and nothing is left untested.

01

Isolate and protect

We shut off the relevant supply, drain the line and protect floors and furniture around the work area.

02

Expose and assess

The damaged section is exposed with minimal disturbance and the surrounding pipe is checked for further wear.

03

Repair or replace

The failed pipe or fitting is cut out and replaced with materials that match your system.

04

Test and restore

The repair is pressure tested, every joint is inspected and the supply is restored once it holds.

05

Clean up and report

We tidy the area, show you the finished work and send photos with any aftercare advice.

Valves

Seized or leaking valves replaced properly

A stop valve you cannot turn is a problem waiting to happen. When a leak starts, you need to isolate the water in seconds, not search for a tool that fits. We replace seized, leaking or corroded valves on the main supply, branch lines and individual fixtures.

Once the new valves are in, we label them clearly and show everyone in the household where they are and how they work, so you are ready if anything goes wrong in future.

Pipe repair FAQs

What to expect when a pipe needs fixing.

Still have a question?

Call 09638-300700 or send us a message. A technician will answer.

Often, yes. If the damage is limited to a joint, fitting or short section and the rest of the pipe is sound, a targeted repair is the right answer. We only recommend replacement when the surrounding pipe is likely to fail too.

Most repairs on accessible pipework are completed within a few hours. Concealed pipes or section replacements take longer, and we give you a realistic timeframe with the quote.

Usually not. We isolate only the affected part of the system where possible, and the supply is restored as soon as the repair has passed its pressure test.

Yes. We locate the leak precisely first, open only the small area needed for access, complete the repair and leave the opening clean and ready for making good.
